Creating an Art Book of Treasures Classes

IF you love collecting from nature, twigs, feathers, pebbles, bits of nests……..
IF you are a hoarder of quirky charms, shiny embellishments, vintage buttons…..
IF you love collecting or writing sentiments, words of wisdom………
Then in this class you will artistically create a book filled with whimsy and sentiment that reflect YOU!
Using 3 to 5 mat boards you will decide on a theme then use collage papers and other imagery adhering them in layers onto each mat board which is the art page for the book. Each page is encased with mat medium or mod podge and finished with your collection of embellishments. When dry, mat board is turned over and the creative process is repeated. Holes are made to create the accordion style and the book is then tied creatively with ribbon and raffia.
Teaching Artist Regina Thomas loves the uniqueness and freedom to delve into so many mediums and specializes in collage and mixed media. She began her training in England taking studio level courses, and is refining her craft through classes and workshops in the U.S. She has attended classes and workshops at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design), The New Art Center in Newton, South Shore Art Center, West Hartford Art League, Creative Arts Workshop/New Haven, CT, Yale University and the British Art Museum. Regina began showing her work in November 2002 and has been included in many juried exhibitions at museums and galleries. She is an elected artist at New Haven Paint and Clay.
