Retirement Transformed Book Club

Retirement Transformed is starting off 2021 by launching a virtual book club!

Both Mark & Jody Rollins are avid readers and have found that taking the time to read the right books and reflect is an important element in both their personal and retirement growth. They will be selecting books that will be inspirational, motivational, and thought provoking. They cant wait to discuss how the book relates to your own retirement journey!

How does it work? They will be posting the book at the beginning of each month (sometimes every other month) in their free Facebook group and give you time to purchase the book and start reading. Then, they will be hosting live chats in the group at specific milestones and end each book with a Zoom call that you can register for to join in the conversation.  Some months, they will be inviting the book’s author to join on the Zoom!

The first pick? The Second Mountain: The Quest for a Moral Life by David Brooks. This #1 New York Times bestselling author explores what it takes to lead a meaningful life in a self-centered world. He explains the four commitments that define a life of meaning and purpose: to a spouse and family, to a vocation, to a philosophy or faith, and to a community. Our personal fulfillment depends on how well we choose and execute these commitments.

Make sure to follow our Retirement Transformed Facebook Group so you can join in on the live conversations where they will discuss aspects of the book and pose questions as we go along.  The schedule for this first book is as follows:

• January 13th at 2pm EST they will be kicking things off with a book overview and initial thoughts and reflections.
• January 27^th at 2pm EST they will be reviewing Part I, The Two Mountains and Part II, Vocation.
• February 10th at 2pm EST they will cover Part III, Marriage and Part IV, Philosophy and Faith.
• Finally, their live Zoom discussion will be hosted on February 24th at 7pm EST covering Part 5, Community and final takeaways.
