    Community Music School, Inc. provides an outstanding program of private lessons, group classes, ensembles, and Kindermusik to students of all ages in the valley shore community.  Our non-profit mission is to provide a full range of the finest possible musical opportunities to persons of all ages and abilities, to increase appreciation of music and to encourage a sense of joy in learning and performing, thus enriching the life of the community. 

  • Essex Art Association

    The Essex Art Association, a non-profit gallery located at 10 North Main Street, has been serving local artists since 1946. Located in a historic, unheated building, the gallery is seasonal but very active during the summer months. The association was founded as a place for artists to share and sell their work. This practice has continued and EAA is known as a friendly place where are all are welcome and openings are free to the public.

  • Essex Winter Series

    Mihae Lee, artistic director The mission of Essex Winter Series is to bring the finest music, in live performance, to the Connecticut River Valley and Shoreline Region during the winter months and to cultivate its appreciation to the widest audience. Each season, between January and April, we present concerts that are renowned not only for their world-class artistic quality, but also for their extraordinary variety and friendly, informal atmosphere. Programs have ranged from an intimate solo guitar recital to a full symphony orchestra, and have included both instrumental and vocal music. Each season includes a Stu Ingersoll Jazz concert and presents young performers in the Fenton Brown Emerging Artists concert. Our Community programs bring dedicated musical artists to schools and senior residences on the Shoreline, New London, and Middletown.
