Child and Family Agency

Our programs support children’s mental health, children’s physical healthcare, the prevention of child abuse, the treatment of family violence, teen pregnancy, parent education, child guidance, and childcare. With a heritage that dates from 1809, Child and Family has grown to become the largest non-profit children’s social service provider in southeastern Connecticut. Our services are available to all residents of New London and Middlesex counties. Child and Family is funded by the State of Connecticut Department of Children and Families as a child guidance clinic and is licensed by the Department of Public Health as a child care facility and as a community health care center. Over 650 men and women give generously of their time and talent through caring for children, fundraising events, and educational services. A sliding fee scale assures that no one will be turned away, or refused assistance, based on financial reasons. Our staff includes social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, teachers, nurse practitioners, community workers, teacher’s aides, physicians, administrative and support personnel.
