A Virtual Talk on Native Lawns
July 13 @ 10:00 am
FREEHorticulturist Krissy Boys, who specializes in natural areas, will present a virtual lecture on native lawns. Native lawns eliminate fertilizer and pesticide inputs, require minimal hand weeding and tolerate a moderate amount of tramping or certain types of recreation. Boys will discuss how to convert a non-native grass (and weed) lawn to a low-maintenance, low energy input, rich in biodiversity, sustainable native lawn. Boys has been a gardener and land steward for 28 years. She teaches classes and workshops at Cornell Botanic Gardens and lectures at plant conferences and gardening clubs throughout the northeast and mid-Atlantic states. She is in her 18th year as a steering committee member of the Finger Lakes Native Plant Society. This event is FREE and open to the public.
