A Virtual Talk on Native Lawns

July 13 @ 10:00 am

FREE

Horticulturist Krissy Boys, who specializes in natural areas, will present a virtual lecture on native lawns. Native lawns eliminate fertilizer and pesticide inputs, require minimal hand weeding and tolerate a moderate amount of tramping or certain types of recreation. Boys will discuss how to convert a non-native grass (and weed) lawn to a low-maintenance, low energy input, rich in biodiversity, sustainable native lawn. Boys has been a gardener and land steward for 28 years. She teaches classes and workshops at Cornell Botanic Gardens and lectures at plant conferences and gardening clubs throughout the northeast and mid-Atlantic states. She is in her 18th year as a steering committee member of the Finger Lakes Native Plant Society. This event is FREE and open to the public. Register for this Zoom program by visiting the events calendar of youressexlibrary.org.
