Alcohol Ink Workshop

July 8, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Sunday, July 8, 2018

Time: 1pm – 4pm

Alcohol Ink is a highly-pigmented, fast drying medium that is used to create vivid, fluid abstract art. Various colored inks are mixed with Isopropyl alcohol to increase the fluidity of the ink and then applied to a non-porous paper. In this workshop explore the basic techniques behind alcohol ink artwork and then create multiple pieces of your own. The possibilities can only be limited by what you are willing to try. No prior experience is necessary. Material fee will be between $5-6 paid directly to the instructor with an option to have your artwork mounted onto cradleboard and finished with resin for an additional fee of $12-30 depending on size.  Pickup will then be arranged for a later date.

Teaching artist, Jena Audette is a performing and visual artist based in Connecticut, and the artist behind INKLINGS Art. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Dance Performance and Business. Jena’s initial involvement in the arts began with ballet and modern dance, having 20 years of professional dance training. This training later evolved into a deeper emphasis on choreography, improvisation, and collaboration. Jena began exploring the art of alcohol ink in 2017 as a way to relieve stress. She is deeply inspired by movement imagery and uses it as a tool to strike a balance between color and form in her “inklings”

Cost:  $50.  $5-6 material fee paid directly to instructor. Members save $5.

Membership starts at $45 per year and offers 10% discount on art instruction* as well as 10% off select Store items at the Gallery. *Does not apply to summer camps.
