At Gallery: Introduction to Peyote Stitch, Gold Band Bracelet
June 6, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
$45Peyote stitch dates back to ancient Egypt, evidenced by artifacts found in King Tutankhamun’s tomb. Also in North America, Native Americans, namely the Kiowa and Comanche tribes, use the stitch giving it its name.
This off-loom beading technique creates both flat bands and structural shapes. In this class, learn flat, odd-count peyote to create a flat and fluid bracelet. All it takes is Fireline thread, a beading needle and delica seed beads. By using the same basic thread path, the beads align with one another. Once the band is woven, you will learn how to attach it a clasp.
Please bring a bead mat, tape measure, scissors and magnification if you require it for close work. No jewelry crafting experience required. Material fee paid directly to the instructor.
Spectrum Gallery adheres to all safety precautions during classes and workshops including social distancing, mask wearing and the use of hand sanitizer.
Date: Sunday, June 6th
Time: 1:00-4:00pm
Cost: $45 plus Material fee of $21 paid directly to the instructor
