Battling Misinformation and Disinformation in the Digital Age

In today’s online news media environment, do you find it challenging to identify credible sources of information? Have you ever wondered about the role of journalists in our democracy today, and how it has evolved over time? Marie K. Shanahan, associate professor at the University of Connecticut and head of the Department of Journalism, will be onsite at Essex Library to discuss journalism in today’s society as well as issues related to news consumption and how to identify misinformation and disinformation online, important topics ahead of the upcoming presidential election.
