ABOUT THE JUROR
Paul Baylock is a New Britain-based artist whose paintings and sculptural installations celebrate Connecticut’s rich industrial heritage. A lifelong artist and graduate of the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford, Baylock taught art in the New Britain public schools for 38 years before retiring in 2012 to focus on his studio practice. His acclaimed Hardware City and Popular Science series draw inspiration from vintage publications, factory architecture, and the manufacturing history of his hometown, blending digital and traditional techniques to create layered works that explore memory, place, and the passage of time. His work has been featured in a solo exhibition at the New Britain Museum of American Art and exhibited at Silvermine Arts Center, Hill-Stead Museum, Central Connecticut State University, and other regional venues. He also served as President of the New Britain Art League from 2008 to 2025. https://pebaylock.wordpress.com/
