Canoe/Kayak Trip North Cove and Falls River

The Essex Land Trust is once again hosting its popular exploration of Essex’ North Cove and mouth of the Falls River. Led by naturalist Phil Miller, you will see and learn about the area’s nature, wildlife and revisit the history of this waterway where many of Essex’s colonial ships were built. We will also explore the remnants of the Williams Shipyard and Complex located at the mouth of the Falls River and tell its story which started in 1689. Meet at the public boat launch at the foot of Bushnell St. off of North Main Street. Bring your own boat for an early summer kayak/canoe trip into peaceful North Cove and Falls River. Participants should register on site and launch their boats prior to the 2 pm departure. A safety boat will accompany. Bad weather cancels.
