Drum Village Workshop for Beginners

Community Music School will be offering a unique drumming workshop for beginners this summer on August 17, 2019 from 1 to 3 pm. Open to children and adult in our Centerbrook location at 90 Main Street in Spencer’s Corner.
CMS Drum Village is an opportunity for all ages to participate in a hands-on percussion ensemble that explores musical traditions from around the world. Students will learn to coordinate intricate rhythmic patterns, build a sense of community, and try out this fun new program in a workshop setting!

About Marty Wirt
Marty Wirt is an active and versatile performer and educator. He began studying piano at age seven, and has since developed a passion for all styles of classical and popular music. As a performer, he has played for productions at Goodspeed Musicals, the Ivoryton Playhouse, and numerous local venues. He is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music with a degree in jazz percussion, and a proud alumnus of CMS.
