GET STARTED WITH INVESTING WITH FINANCIAL EDUCATOR KRISTEN JACKS

The basics of investing are easy to grasp. Get Started with Investing is a two-part Zoom series offered by the Essex Library at 7 p.m. on two Tuesdays in March. Part One on March 8 reviews the most popular investment vehicles like stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, and addresses the advantages of tax-sheltered accounts like a Roth IRA.  Part Two on March 29 tackles important concepts and considerations like risk, diversification, time horizon, benchmarking, dollar cost averaging, and how your money is (or is not) protected from loss. Don’t miss this chance to learn the fundamentals of investing in a lively, jargon-free format.       

Kristen Jacks is a financial educator and the author of Money in Your Twenties. A graduate of Duke University, Jacks studied financial planning at Boston University’s Center for Professional Education. She started her career at Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine and later worked at Mutual Funds Magazine.
