Polymer Clay Mokume Gane Technique Workshop
April 28, 2019 @ 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm
$55Mokume Gane is a Japanese metalworking technique in which thin layers of variously colored metals are fused together, then distorted and ground down to reveal a beautiful pattern. Polymer artists, as they so often do, have developed a variety of techniques that capture the wonderful look of the original metal art form.
In this class, we will explore one of the traditional methods of creating mokume gane using polymer clay.
The beautiful and unique sheets you will create will be used to cover your choice of either a twist pen or a scent pen.
These sheets can also be used in a wide variety of projects including jewelry, making handles for tools or other implements, making book covers, or covering small boxes. You may purchase 4 colors of the clay from the instructor for $3 per color or purchase your own.
