Spectrum Art Gallery Exhibit Opens March 24

Spectrum Art Gallery and Artisan Store 61 Main Street, Centerbrook, CT, United States

Spectrum Art Gallery and Artisans Store of Centerbrook presents Power and Strength, from March 24 through May 6. The exhibit presents the many ways artists explore the concepts of “power” and “strength”, with the six-week show offering innovative and commanding artwork to illustrate these ideas. Discover exciting established and emerging artists who create abstract and representational paintings, mixed media, photography, and more. Attend the Open Reception, Friday, March 24 (6:30-9pm) or visit the Open House Weekend, Saturday, March 25 (1-6pm) and Sunday, March 26 (1-5pm) at 61 Main Street, Centerbrook, Connecticut.

Botanical Illustration Basics in Pen and Ink

Create beautiful illustrations in pen and ink! Students will be introduced to the basics of ink application, including line work and stippling using micron pens. This one-day workshop will focus on a single botanical subject (provided by instructor), During the three-hour session, Nancy Bentivegna, a seasoned instructor who has taught many multiple week sessions, and will provide students with the skills to begin drawing botanical illustrations in this medium and tips to make drawings more successful. Pen and ink is great fun; give it a try!
