Nearly 50 string musicians will take the stage at John Winthrop Middle School in Deep River for the Community Music School’s Sinfonia and String Ensemble Concert.  Ranging in age from eight to eighty-four, members of the two multi-generational performance groups will play a variety of classical pieces, including works by Bach, Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saëns, as well as popular movie music, fiddle tunes and pop, all under the direction of Martha Herrle. The Connecticut River Museum is proud to once again offer its free series of weekly concerts throughout July and August.  These Thursday evening performances feature a different musical act each week, on the front lawn of the Connecticut River Museum.  Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or folding chairs and a picnic.  Porky Pete’s BBQ offers food from the grill and the Museum will provide a cash bar with beer and wine.  Concerts run July 7- August 25, from…

The 2016 Fall Ball fundraiser for the Connecticut River Museum will be hosted by WFSB’s Scot Haney and held on the waterfront grounds of the Museum, Saturday, October 8th at 6:00 pm.
