At Gallery: Recreating Cubist Art through Collage Class
February 2, 2022 @ 12:30 pm - February 24, 2022 @ 2:30 pm
$160In this class we study the uniqueness of the Cubist art movement and how artists of the early 20th Century changed visual perception to redefine art into a more abstracted vision. The earliest known originators of the Cubist movement, Picasso and Braques, re-interpreted landscapes, portraiture and still life. We discuss and break down their styles. Photos of some of their pieces will be available via Spectrum upon registration, but you may also select your own pieces to collage during the class. Any pieces of your own selection must be early 20th Century from the Cubist period.
The material list necessary for the class is provided upon registration. It is advisable to have all needed supplies for the first day of class plus an enlarged and color copy of your chosen piece. Instructor provides acrylics, markers, crayons, colored pencils, adhesives, glue sticks, mod podge, matte medium and crackle mediums, fine and coarse pumice plus bits of ephemera. There is a $20 material fee paid directly to the instructor. All levels welcome.
