Author Talk: Mark C. Borton

Chester resident Mark C. Borton will talk about his new book Moondoggle: Franklin Roosevelt and the Fight for Tidal-electric Power at Passamaquoddy Bay on Thursday, September 21, at 7:00 p.m. at Essex Library. The book tells the tale of how three United States Presidents – Roosevelt, Truman, and Kennedy – and multiple engineers attempted to harness the tides in the Bay of Fundy to provide clean and renewable energy to New England. This singular book explores the potential of the “Passamaquoddy Project” and the difficulties of making it a reality. This program is FREE and open to the public. Registration is required.
