Countdown to College Series: FAFSA Workshop (GR.11-12)

Essex Library continues its college preparedness workshop series for teens on Wednesday, February 1, at 5:30 PM, with a snow date of February 8. In this interactive workshop, admissions counselors from Middlesex Community College will be at the library to assist students and parents with filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The priority deadline to complete the FAFSA for Connecticut Statue Universities is February 15.

For both the parent and student to complete the FAFSA successfully at this workshop, participants will need to know or bring their social security number, alien registration number (if not a U.S citizen), 2021 federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned, bank statements and records of investments (if applicable), records of untaxed income (if applicable), their FSA ID to sign electronically (if they have already created it), and a laptop computer (available upon request, contact Essex Library).

This program is free and open to all college-bound teens and their parents who would like assistance filling out the FAFSA form. Registration is required.
