Essex Library Presents: En-LIGHT-tenment: Tracing Light From Computers to the Cosmos

The Essex Library will host a group of Yale scientists to present the talk “En-LIGHT-tenment: Tracing Light from Computers to the Cosmos.” This is a free, public lecture series by Yale graduate students that aims to deconstruct complex scientific topics and explain them in a way that is easy to understand. The May 11 talk consists of topics such as building a focusing lens from first principles, mapping the universe with gravitational lensing, and computer simulations of light matter interactions (Ray Tracing) for movies.
