FreeLEARN TO ICE FISH WITH CT DEEP’S THOMAS BOURRET
Ice Fishing is a great and safe way to beat cabin fever and spend quality time with family and friends outdoors. If you are interested in learning more about ice fishing, join Tom Bourret from the Connecticut DEEP – Fisheries Division’s Connecticut Aquatic Resources Education (CARE) program who’ll offer a FREE ice fishing course for the Essex Library on Tuesday, January 15 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Learn the basics of this fun, wintertime sport as subjects covered will include discussion of the Angler’s Guide & Ethics; live bait; clothing; safety; equipment; knots; where to Ice Fish on lakes and ponds; freshwater fish identification; winter pond ecology; and cooking your catch. Graduates will be invited to attend an ice fishing field trip held on February 2nd.
