Nuno Felting Workshop

March 9 @ 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm

$20 – $60

This class is for all levels of experience. Participants create a lightweight scarf, hat or similar item of choice. Your piece will be made using the wet felting method in combination with other felting techniques. For this project, participants will use soft and colorful merino wool roving, several yards of special gauze silk, yarn and various embellishments. After initial fabrication, roll your piece, immerse in hot water and then throw it to shrink and tighten it.

Workshop starts with simple brainstorming before creating “pre-felts” and a template. The various textures and techniques taught in this workshop can be applied to making a beautiful scarf, hat or other items. Participants choose their own color palettes before learning the “ins and outs” of Nuno wet felting. A range of different concepts are demonstrated to inspire everyone with many creative, exciting options. Bring any extra yarns, beads or threads you might want to use for felting your piece and a small sketchbook or note pad.
