Online Class: Get to Know Your Digital Camera Part I

Learn what all those buttons are on your camera and how to use them.  Learn the basic tenants of the exposure triangle, the creative use of shutter speed and aperture to create more compelling and artistic photos. How to review images for proper exposure.  Various focusing modes and how to take your photos from your camera to your computer and cell phone for storage, editing and sharing.  **Recommended camera is a digital DSLR or mirrorless camera with various modes and functions. (No Cell phones)

Session 1:

Understanding Exposure triad of ISO, Shutter and Aperture to achieve correct exposure

Learn how to take control of your camera using the Aperture Priority and Shutter Priority modes.  Learn to understand the exposure triad of ISO, aperture and shutter to achieve proper exposure.  Learn the creative aspects of aperture and shutter speeds to create creative effects and sharper photos.

Teaching Artist, John Munno is a multi- faceted professional photographer who makes his living by creating beauty through his photography.  John studied photography through the New York Institute of Photography.  His career started out as a Fine Art Nature and Landscape Photographer specializing in photo healing art for healing and medical environments.  He has permanent displays in UCONN Hospital as well as many medical facilities throughout Connecticut.  He has a line of Connecticut greeting cards, calendars, DVDs and books.  His work has been featured on many magazine covers of Seasons Magazine.  His Nature photography focuses on the beauty of Connecticut and brings a sense of peace, wonder and appreciation for Connecticut’s wild and scenic lands.

In addition to his nature and landscape and commercial photography, John is a full time wedding photographer shooting over 30 weddings a year merging his landscape photography skills with his wedding experiences to create captivating, evocative images to capture the moments that tell the story of the wedding day!

His love and enthusiasm for photography and teaching has helped many go on to become accomplished photographers.
