Struggling Reader Information Series: Dyslexia

April 18 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join Essex Library for a 3-part Zoom series open to parents and teachers who would like to learn more information about reasons why their young readers may be struggling. Each session will be led by different professionals in their field to discuss the possibilities behind children’s reading difficulties.

In our last session, Lydia Conca, Ph.D, Reading Consultant and Special Educator, will present a free workshop regarding Dyslexia. Dr. Conca will discuss what dyslexia is, and how parents and teachers can help readers who are affected by dyslexia.

Dr. Lydia Conca has contributed to the licensure of over 1,000 special education teachers to Connecticut at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, where she developed and taught graduate course work in dyslexia, adolescent literacy, and assessment. She is a passionate advocate for making reading research meaningful and accessible for all.

Essex Library programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required to receive Zoom link.
