Essex Library: Sustainable Lawns with Tom Christopher

Essex Library Association 33 West Avenue, Essex

Join us at Essex Library for a lecture on ecological lawns with garden designer and writer Tom Christopher. Christopher will discuss how certain grasses and maintenance practices can help produce a lawn that contributes positively to biological diversity, resource sustainability and carbon sequestration. This program is free and open to the public at 33 West Avenue, Essex, CT. Register HERE or by calling the Library at 860-767-1560. About Tom Christopher A graduate of the New York Botanical Garden’s School of Professional Horticulture, Tom Christopher has spent the last 45 years designing and tending gardens. Over the past decade, Christopher has been working to return the American lawn to a more environmentally healthy condition that flourishes with only a couple of mowings a year and limited fertilization. His most recent book is The Artful Garden, coauthored with landscape architect James van Sweden. He lives in the Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts with his wife Suzanne.
