This annual event offers the community a unique glimpse into the wealth of talent and experience of the Music School’s faculty as they collaborate on a wide variety of selections. The concert is free and open to the public and a meet-and-greet reception immediately follows. At-will donations are gratefully accepted.
Among the works to be performed are Mozart’s Violin Duet No. 1 played by Corey Johnson on violin and Tom Briggs on Marimba; Bugmüller’s Nocturnes No. 1 and 2 played by Christine Coyle on cello and Francesco Barone on guitar; CMS Music Director Tom Brigg’s original work “It’s Only a Dream” played by Andrew Sherwood on alto sax, Kevin O’Neil on guitar, Tom Briggs on piano, Matt McCauley on bass, and Marty Wirt on drums; and much more!
The program will conclude with a tribute to the legendary composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein in honor of his two-year Centennial Celebration. The CMS instrumental faculty will perform a medley from Bernstein’s most famous work West Side Story arranged by CMS Music Director Tom Briggs.
