Teen Poetry Club: Paint Chip Poetry

Essex Library will host the second session of Teen Poetry Club on Thursday, July 13 at 4 PM. Each session focuses on a different type of poetry. Teens will learn the guidelines behind creating different types of poetry and have the opportunity to experiment with the style to create their own poetic works!

For this session, teens will study paint chip poetry – a colorful and creative poetry exercise where the writer uses paint chips like you’d get at the hardware store, to create beautiful poetic creations! Teens will learn the history of this one-of-a-kind poetry game, read some examples, and use paint chips supplied by the library to create their own poetry.
