Celebrate fall in full festive spirit at the 25th Annual Ivoryton Pumpkin Festival on Saturday, October 25, 2025! This beloved community event draws over 1,500 visitors to the Ivoryton Village Green for a fun-filled day of FREE activities for all ages. From autumn traditions to Halloween fun, the Pumpkin Festival has something for everyone, so come in costume and get into the spirit! Returning this year is the ever-popular Costume Parade, open to all but geared toward children 12 and under. Parade kicks off at 4:30 PM from the corner of Walnut and Main Street and travels through the heart of the village. --- Pre-Festival Fun Start your day early with a Pumpkin Carving Party hosted by Bushy Hill Nature Center from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 253 Bushy Hill Rd., Ivoryton, CT. All ages and skill levels are welcome to carve a pumpkin that will be featured in the festival's evening Pumpkin Stroll. EHS 70th Anniversary Party

Please mark your calendars for EHS's 70th Anniversary Party on Sunday, November 2 at The Museum of Fife and Drum, 62 North Main Street in Ivoryton, CT, from 3pm-5pm. We will celebrate our 70th anniversary year's successes and look forward to a bright future for 2026—the America 250 celebrations.  Join us for an afternoon of light bites, libations and mingling with friends who enjoy the history of Centerbrook, Essex and Ivoryton! A social hour will begin at 3pm with hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine and soft drinks in the pub on the lower level of the Museum of Fife and Drum.  Volunteers from the Museum of Fife and Drum will be onsite to answer questions s you explore the main exhibit floor.   We may even have a performance from some Corps members! Then, all are welcome to stay for our Annual Membership Meeting starting at approximately 4:30pm.  EHS Board President, Lou Mazzarese will present the Annual Financial Report and Year in Review.  EHS Director Melissa Josefiak will present plans for the upcoming year and announce the Volunteer of the Year.
