It's almost time for the Essex Land Trust Community Concert, Saturday June 21 from 5-7PM featuring live music from Melaena! Enjoy a fun filled evening at the Essex Town Green (12 Main St, Essex) with friends, live music and views of Middle Cove, hosted by the Essex Land Trust. Melaena is a six-piece cover band whose sole mission is to perform music that “makes you want to dance.” We’ll be grooving to songs from every decade, from Top 40 and Motown, to Classic Rock and current hits. Bring your family and friends, blankets and chairs, picnic baskets and choice of beverages, and be prepared to sip, dance, and have some fun! Dogs on leash are ok! This event is weather dependent.

Essex Park and Recreation is excited to be able to offer another great set of bands this year for our 2025 Summer Concert Series.  Hosted on alternating Tuesdays at The Ivoryton Green and Wednesdays at The Essex Main Street Park, concerts take place at 6:30pm from July 2 through August 13th. July 2 – Essex Village Main Street Park – Middletown Symphonic Band has an extensive repertoire: classical and semi-classical pieces, Broadway, jazz, marches, holiday favorites and traditional concert band music.

Thursdays on the Dock has been a shoreline staple for 16 years and remains the premier destination for waterfront music. Shorebreak is a 4-piece indie rock band playing original music with a wide range of influences. Led by singer-songwriter Sharif Okasha, the songs pull from a wide range of musical styles, and range from indie pop to reggae, rock, folk, and blues.

Drawing its musical influences from American roots music — swing, boogie-woogie, and Motown- Eight to the Bar is known for its outstanding instrumentalists and sophisticated musical and vocal arrangements, highlighted by female vocals. With the support of independently produced CDs and videos, Eight to the Bar has cultivated a large, enthusiastic following that has put them in clubs from Maine to Miami as well as Europe and the Caribbean. Their rigorous touring schedule has included opening spots for Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Manhattan Transfer, Robert Cray, the late Roy Orbison and Ray Charles, several European tours, and a tour of the Republic of Georgia at the invitation of the U.S. Embassy located there. July 30 – Essex Village Main Street Park –Brian Blumenthal aka “Bloomer” has been entertaining the masses for the past 17 years.  His song selections span decades and many genres of music.  Bloomer knits these songs into a seamless show making sitting in your seat nearly impossible.

With Jilian Grey and the boys, Cherry Pie is a delicious, freshly baked musical dance party with just enough retro sprinkled on top for a sweet-stepping good time! Jilian Grey and drummer Ric Haddad, together with Lou Bocciarelli on bass and Paul John Tautkus on guitar, have become a weekly favorite at the Griswold Inn and perform at many established venues along the Shoreline.
